Amrish Puri’s grandson Vardhan debuts with Yeh Saali Aashiqui, to release on 22 November

Amrish Puri’s grandson Vardhan Puri is all set to make his acting debut in Yeh Saali Aashiqui (2019). The film is also the launch for actress Shivaleeka Oberoi. The makers have revealed that the film will release next month on 22 November. 

Produced by Amrish Puri’s son Rajeev and Jayantilala Gada’s Pen Movies, Yeh Saali Aashiqui is the directorial debut for Cherag Ruparel.

The motion poster of the film doesn’t feature the faces of two leads. Instead, it has their respective middle fingers which are covered with blood, yet make up a heart.

The official statement by the makers about the film makes the quirky nature of the film even clearer. “If you ever thought that a perfect love story exists, think again. Everything's twisted, including theirs. Lovers, beware!” it states. 

First-time filmmaker Ruparel has assisted on various Yash Raj Films productions like Lafangey Parindey (2010), Do Dooni Chaar (2010), Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Daawat-e-Ishq (2014).

Interestingly, Puri was also one of the assistant directors on Ishaqzaade and Shuddh Desi Romance. His co-star Oberoi also worked as an assistant director on Kick (2014) and Housefull 3 (2016).

Yeh Saali Aashiqui will be clashing with Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti, which stars John Abraham and Ileana D’Cruz, Seema Pahwa's Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi and Hotel Mumbai, which are also slated to release on 22 November.
