The Gaddi language film, The Gold-Laden Sheep And The Sacred Mountain, directed by Ridham Janve, and Devashish Makhija's Bhonsle, starring Manoj Bajpayee, picked up two nominations each at the 13th Asia Pacific Screen Awards. The festival has nominated 37 films from 22 countries and different areas of Asia Pacific out of 289 films in competition.

Janve's directorial debut is nominated for Best Feature Film and its cinematographer, Saurabh Monga, also picked up honours for Achievement in Cinematography. The Gaddi film will compete against the Chinese films, Balloon and So Long, My Son, the Russian film Beanpole, and Korean film Parasite.

Filmmaker Devashish Makhija's Bhonsle received a nomination for the Cultural Diversity Award Under The Patronage of UNESCO, and another for leading man Bajpayee, his third. The actor was previously nominated for Gangs Of Wasseypur: Part 1 (2012) and won the award in 2016 for Aligarh.

This year, Bajpayee will be competing Israeli actor Eran Naim for Chained, Iranian actor Navid Mohammadzadeh for Just 6.5, Russian actor Mohsen Tanabandeh for Rona, Azim's Mother, and Chinese actor Wang Jingchun for So Long, My Son.

This year, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards will celebrate 100 years of Korean cinema. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony held in Brisbane, Australia on 21 November.
