Ujda Chaman song 'Chand Nikla': Divya Kumar voices out Sunny Singh's pain and envy of being bald

There have been songs for leading men romancing their ladies, or venting their sorrows, and even for their action packed entries, but Ujda Chaman's latest song captures the pain and pathos of a man who is on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Sung by Divya Kumar, 'Chand Nikla' is a vibrant number that actually speaks about the inability of Sunny Singh's Chaman Kohli to be the leading man of his own story. Composed by Gourov-Roshin, the song also has lyrics from Devshi Khanduri.
The song begins with the sight of Chaman Kohli on his way to work, with all the memories of his lost hair returning to him through the journey. From his brother styling his own hair, to watching the flowing locks of people on the street, to even the sight of a barber cleaning his shop of the hair he cut, it is a constant reminder. If that were not enough, Kohli is taunted by his family, colleagues, and the rowdy class that picks on his weak point. The song's lyrics capture this very element.
Divya Kumar's signature voice is unique and has a vibrant ring to it that makes the song sound happier than it is. The Punjabi rhythm adds to the energy of his vocals, making for a good listening experience. Gourov-Roshin's composition has enough zip to get you up and going, regardless of the fairly sad context of his song. The lyrics by Devshi Khanduri manage to convey Kohli's entire problem in a funny manner, keeping the energy and the tempo up.
The film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, is set to release in theatres on 8 November. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
