Box office: The Sky Is Pink earns Rs10.50 crore, War remains unshakeable

The Sky Is Pink (2019), starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim, opened to a low number of Rs2.50 crore on Friday. The film didn’t see much growth over its next two days as it made Rs4 crore each on Saturday and Sunday respectively, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Directed by Shonali Bose, The Sky Is Pink has received fairly good reviews. But the film didn’t create as much pre-release buzz as it should have since it is aimed only at the urban audience.
As per our trade sources, the film is made at the cost around Rs25-30 crore. It has so far made only Rs10.50 crore, the film’s journey will be tough from today when the weekdays start.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer War (2019) was unshakable in its second weekend. It raked in figures of Rs7 crore, Rs11 crore and Rs13 crore respectively on its second Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After earning Rs31 crore in the first three days of the second week, the Sidharth Anand film has so far earned a mammoth Rs257.50 crore.
War is now the second highest grosser of the year after Kabir Singh (2019) which made a surprising Rs276.34 crore in its theatrical run.
The Hollywood movie Joker (2019) has also performed well in its second weekend. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, the film has so far made Rs49 crore in India.
