Director Prasad Oak’s Hirkani (2019) is based on the real-life story of a mother's valiant effort to reach to her hungry child in time.
The story of Hirkani has been taught in school and it left us awestruck. But in schoolbooks and later on, we haven’t learnt as much about the incident as would fit in a proper two hour feature film.
The much awaited trailer of Hirkani indicates that the makers have build up a formidable narrative around the brave story of Hirkani. Although the trailer is like an extension of the teaser, it tells us more about Hirkani’s life.
The narrative built up can either be a result of extensive research or fictional imagination around the main story. Even if it’s the latter, it shouldn't be a problem if it seamlessly goes with the said incident and does justice to it.
The trailer indicates that the film has rich production values in terms of recreating the bygone era and establishing the rich palace of Shivaji. But the real challenge would be to convince the audience about Hirkani's daring mission, a glimpse of which is shown in the trailer.
Kulkarni appears in good form while playing the protagonist. The actor playing Shivaji is kept under wraps and will be revealed in the film itself.
Hirkani will be released on 25 October during Diwali. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
