The Sky Is Pink (2019), starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim, had a less-than-stellar opening yesterday with a meagre Rs2.50 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. The number is lower than the opening-day collection of Chopra’s last Hindi film, Jai Gangaajal (2016), which had opened with Rs4.48 crore, but higher than Farhan Akhtar's last few films.

The dismal start will be worrying for producers as the other big Hindi film in theatres now, War (2019), continues to rule with a collection of Rs6.25–6.50 crore on its second Friday. War's total earning at the domestic box office stands at Rs233 crore nett and the film looks set to overtake this year's box-office champion Kabir Singh's lifetime earning of Rs276 crore by the Diwali holidays.

The action film, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, shows no sign of slowing down. For a Hindi film, it has outperformed in the South and continues to do well in the East as well.

To add to the woes of The Sky Is Pink, the Hollywood film Joker (2019) also did well on its second Friday, earning Rs2.25 crore and taking its collection in the Indian market to Rs39.75 crore.
