Director Sanjay Jadhav’s next titled Khari Biscuit is the story of two siblings named Khari (Vedashree Khadilkar), who is visually impaired, and Biscuit (Adarsh Kadam). The teaser of the movie was appealing and the trailer goes even ahead of that.
The promo has moments where Biscuit’s friends are holding a kite thread at a height so that Khari believes that her kite is flying high. In another one, one of Biscuit’s friends mimics the Hindi film star Shah Rukh Khan in front of Khari to give her an impression that she is actually meeting the actor.
These are lies or tricks played to fool the little girl. But Biscuit’s intention here is pure which is to ensure that Khari stays happy always. He is just following her mother’s orders to keep her happy even if it means lying sometimes. But things go out of hand when Khari becomes adamant to see the 2011 cricket World Cup final in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. How will Biscuit arrange the money and tickets?
Going by the trailer, Khari Biscuit looks like an emotional roller coaster ride featuring two slum kids. But it doesn’t appear like a tear-jerker and has moments that are moving and funny both at the same time. And going by Jadhav’s track record, we can expect the film to be engaging, as is the feeling from the trailer as well.
Khadilkar and Kadam appear like real siblings and their performances touch your heart. The film also stars Nandita Patkar who was recently seen in Ani... Dr Kashinath Ghanekar (2018) and Baba (2019).
Khari Biscuit will be releasing on 1 November. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
