No Munnabhai yet, but Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi to reunite for comedy film

Directed by Sajid-Farhad, the film will go on the floors next year.

After a span of six years, the Munna-Circuit duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi are set to reunite again. The actors will be seen together in Sajid-Farhad's next comedy about a blind don and his protégé. The news was confirmed by Arshad Warsi at a recent interview.

Speaking to the online portal ETimes, Warsi said, "Sanju plays the role of a blind don and I am his eyes. The challenge is that nobody can know that he is blind, and I cannot tell anyone that he is blind. I am actually directing him throughout the film. It’s quite a fun script."

The actor went on to add, "It’s a crazy script, a project by Sajid-Farhad. The film is likely to go on the floors by March-April next year. We’ll probably head to Budapest for the first schedule of the film."

Warsi and Dutt were part of the hit Munna Bhai series of Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). There were talks about a third film in the series, Munna Bhai Chale America, but he decided to work on the Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju (2018).

The duo were last seen together in Zilla Ghaziabad (2013), which did poorly at the box office. Warsi will now be seen in Pagalpanti (2019), directed by Anees Bazmee. Dutt is awaiting the release of Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat (2019), in which he plays the role of Ahmed Shah Abdali.
