Coolie No. 1 Varun Dhawan cozies up to Sara Ali Khan in new film still: See picture

An image from the sets of David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1 (2020) has been shared by the film’s lead actress Sara Ali Khan. It features her along with Varun Dhawan, who plays the titular character of a coolie. The film is the remake of Dhawan’s own 1995 hit of the same name starring Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Kader Khan and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. 

Varun is in his red coolie uniform with a turban on his head, to help him carry passengers’ luggages. But what is the most noticeable is his de-glam avatar. It seems Varun's face has been bronzed a shade of darker than his own natural colour. 

Khan, on the other hand, is dressed in a simple white salwar-kameez and looks fresher. She is playing the character Kapoor played in the original. It seems the makers haven’t changed much of her character since Kapoor also played a simple, girl next door in the film despite being from a wealthy family. 

Coolie No. 1 also stars Shikha Talsania, last seen in Veere Di Wedding (2018). Although not much is known about her character, she had earlier said that her character will be different from the one she played in the 2018 film. Interestingly, her father and veteran actor Tiku Talsania was a part of the original Coolie No. 1. 

Coolie No. 1 is due to be released on 1 May 2020.
