The film will be the fifth installment of the franchise which began with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006).
Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty confirm their partnership in Golmaal 5

The Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty juggernaut has confirmed their team up for the next instalment of the Golmaal franchise. The filmmaker and actor will lead the fifth film, tentatively titled Golmaal 5. The confirmation was made by Ajay Devgn through his social media feed early on Saturday.

The actor has been part of all five films in the franchise since 2006's Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The franchise remains one of the more successful comedy franchises of Hindi cinema. The previous film in the franchise, Golmaal Again (2017) saw Tabu and Parineeti Chopra join the cast led by Devgn, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi.
Golmaal 5 will be produced by Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Picturez.
Devgn is currently preparing for the release of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which is set to release in theatres on 10 January 2020. The actor also has two biopics, Maidaan and Bhuj:The Pride Of India in the pipeline for next year.
