Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Nandita Roy launch new film franchise after Haami's success

Junior Pandit and Junior Comrade are the two films of the franchise to release in the next winter vacations in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy are all set to launch their new film franchise. It will be the first of its kind that has been inspired from the success of the film Haami (2018) that broke all records for Windows Production House. Junior Pandit and Junior Comrade are the two films of the franchise to release in the next winter vacations in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

The director and producer duo have announced that they are going to launch a new children’s film from the franchise every year. Both Junior Pandit and Junior Comrade will have the entire cast of Haami. However, Mukherjee also hinted that Prosenjit Chatterjee might play an interesting character in Junior Pandit.

In an interview with Sangbad Pratidin, a local Bengali newspaper, Mukherjee said, “Kids and their parents have formed a connection with Haami, which has also inspired us to launch Haami Films, a branch of our production house.” The director feels that Haami has reaped immense positive response because it attempted to project a serious issue through a funny and entertaining tale. However, the film are not only made for the kids, rather audiences of all age groups can savour it.

“I will try my best deliver one film from the franchise in every Christmas. I have always attempted to present good films. This year, we produced Mukherjee Dar Bou (2019)and released it on [International] Women’s Day. We are preparing for the next year with Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti," Mukherjee remarked.
