The Body song 'Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja Reloaded': Tanishk Bagchi ups his game with Himesh Reshammiya's iconic number

There are some sacred things for an Indian auto driver. The mother sentiment, the star poster, and Himesh Reshammiya's music. Tanishk Bagchi's latest remix pushes the buttons on the last of the trinity. Thankfully, it has the blessings of the original creator who comes on board as a singer for this one as well.

'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Reloaded' features Reshammiya recreating his iconic number from Aksar (2006) for the latest Emraan Hashmi-starrer. The remix, which is quite the Bagchi staple, begins with completely new lyrics before it flows into the familiar rhythm of the Himesh Reshammiya number, first written by Sameer for the film Aksar (2006).

Bagchi layers the composition quite heavily with electronic influences backed by a pumping percussion. While the percussion can be forgiven as a necessity, the overuse of electronic modifications do affect the distinct nasal twang of Reshammiya's delivery. It feels almost like a bad robotic voice singing. 

Bagchi handles part of the song himself, and tries to recreate the same tempo and feel of the original. He succeeds, to some extent. When the composition hits the more familiar rhythm of the original it flows smoother. However, the composer needs to be credited for managing to create a new 'hook' that moves away from the original, setting up this remix. 

Visually, the song is part of the dozen remixes set in a club, with Emraan Hashmi playing the mysterious, attractive stranger being wooed by the women. The only oddity is Rishi Kapoor in a hoodie trying to chase Hashmi through the club's narrow lanes. The actor is a strange sight with his gray, brooding presence in a neon lit club.
