Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty and actor Soham Majumdar, known for his performance in this year's hit film Kabir Singh (2019), will be seen together in Aritra Mukherjee’s debut film Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, produced by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. The film is reportedly a simple story on a married couple and will explore the multiple avatars a common woman plays in her workplace as well at home.

In the poster, Chakraborty, who essays the character of Shabari in the film, was seen in the form of Doshobhuja, a multitasker. In an interview with the Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika, she said, "Whenever we think of Doshobhuja, we choose Priyanka Chopra or Sania Mirza as our idols. However, this film rather attempts to present a simple woman with special abilities of multitasking."

Chakraborty met her co-star Majumdar, who plays her husband Vikramaditya, for the first time on the sets. “We met first at the workshop. He is a very simple person and hence, it was easy to bond with him on the instantly," the actress added.

In the film, Shabari is a professor at the Sanskrit College and is married into a joint family. She is born in a small town yet she is broad-minded and perceives every situation in terms of logic and practicality.

Choosing the cast, producer Shiboprosad said that they were looking for a fresh pair. While the director, on the other hand, explained that Chakraborty has a very sweet nature. “I wanted Shabari to appear sweet even when she gets angry and Ritabhari carries that charm. For Vikramaditya, I wanted a face that can easily get lost in the crowd," Aritra added, saying that Vikramaditya is the character of an ideal husband.

Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti went on the floors on 19 November.
