Director Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti (2019)collected Rs2.50 crore yesterday on its first Monday, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeInda.com. The drop is 50% from its opening day figure of Rs5 crore. This isn’t considered a matter of concern but only if the Friday number is large, which wasn’t the case with Pagalpanti.
Starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela and Pulkit Samrat, the film saw a little jump on Saturday and Sunday when it made Rs6.25 crore and Rs8.25 crore respectively.
The rise wasn’t significant by any means simply because Pagalpanti is made at a high budget of around Rs75-80 crore. The film has been shot completely in London. The grand total of the film right now is only Rs22 crore which will make it almost impossible for it to reach its cost.
Meanwhile, director Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavaan collected Rs80 lakh yesterday on its second Monday. The Siddharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria-starrer has so far earned Rs42.35 crore against its budget of around Rs40 crore. The film received completely negative reviews and word-of-mouth but has till managed to recover its cost.
Bala, on the other hand, made Rs1 crore yesterday on its third Monday, which was better than Marjaavaan’s second Monday. The Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer has so far made a total of Rs103.25 crore, continuing the actor's run of successful films at the box office.
