The Sonalee Kulkarni-starrer Vicky Velingkar (2019) has made heads turn through its teaser and posters. The trailer of the film lives up to the hype as it appears like an interesting mystery thriller.
The film takes place in Nashik, Maharashtra where artist, Vicky Velingkar (Kulkarni), is struggling to run her business of comic books. She realizes that an evil person, known as Mask Man, is following her. Her friend (Spruha Joshi) and others feel she is hallucinating. But Vicky is sure about the prevailing trouble and is determined to outwit the Mask Man. She gets help from her hacker friend (Sangram Samel).
The trailer keeps us guessing as to whether the film is a mystery thriller with Mask Man as the villain or a psychological thriller about Vicky’s mental condition. There are quite a few moments that provide thrill. The best one is saved for the last in the moment where Vicky encounters the Mask Man.
Keeping up with the requirement of the genre, the exciting background score and the editing effects also play their part in keeping you hooked.
Kulkarni, who is fresh with the success of Hirkani (2019), seems to have worked hard for the role. We get some glimpses of Samel and the eventual identity of the Mask Man will be revealed in the film. Interestingly, in Kulkarni’s last film Hirkani, the identity of the actor playing Shivaji Maharaj was revealed directly in the film.
Directed by Saurabh Verma, Vicky Velingkar will be released on 6 December. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you would be keen in watching the film.
