The Body song 'Aaina': Emraan Hashmi lies between two loves in this wonderful Arko song

For a murder mystery, Emraan Hashmi's next, The Body (2019), has a decent song as its opening number. 'Aaina' sung and composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee, with Tulsi Kumar joining in on the vocals to offer a bright, calming look into the romance between Hashmi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Vedhika.
The song takes place on a drive with Emraan Hashmi and Maya (Sobhita Dhulipala). Except, Hashmi's true love lies with Vedhika's character. Even as he romances the absent memory of his love, it is to Maya that he dedicates the song. Therein begins the love triangle that eventually leads to the missing body alluded in the title.
The song, composed by Arko, is wonderful and quite melodious. The composer, also singer of the song, keeps the instrumentation down to the minimal. This allows the lyrics and emotional heft of the song to take precedence. Tulsi Kumar sings for Maya as she competes for Hashmi's affections. Her voice, though, feels a little too toned with the mechanics, adding a different feel to it. Thankfully, it does not affect the song too much.
The lyrics by Arko might be simple, but have the musicality and keep you hooked to the tune with success.
The Body is a remake of the Spanish film, El Cuerpo (2012), and will also feature Rishi Kapoor in a key role. The film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is set to release on 13 December. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
