Akshay Kumar has been delivering hit after hit over the past few years. However, none of his films had gone past the Rs150 crore mark until Kesari (2019) earlier this year.
Now, less than eight months later, Akshay Kumar has gone past the Rs200 crore mark as well with Housefull 4.
Diwali release Housefull 4's domestic collection has reached Rs200.18 crore nett, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Directed by Farhad Samji, the film also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda and Chunky Pandey.
The reincarnation comedy is set in 1419 and 2019. The film was panned by critics, but audiences seem to have liked it.
The film achieved the feat of crossing Rs200 crore in domestic box-office collections exactly at the end of its third week in theatres, with a decent Rs16.25 crore nett in the week.
This is the highest collection by a movie in the Housefull series by some distance. The second highest number was scored by Housefull 2 (2012), with a lifetime domestic collection of Rs111.79 crore nett.
Despite the huge collection, Housefull 4 is not a great success because the film's budget was in the region of Rs170 crore.
