Parineeti Chopra has dropped out of the Ajay Devgn-led multi-starrer Bhuj: The Pride Of India. The film, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, is based on a pivotal moment in the 1971 India-Pakistan war when villagers in Madhopur, Gujarat, stepped up to rebuild a runway for the Indian Air Force. The film is set for release on 14 August 2020.

The tabloid Mumbai Mirror reported that Chopra dropped out owing to unavailability of dates. The newspaper quoted a source saying, "Parineeti really wanted to be a part of the film, but she is busy with two other projects, including the Saina Nehwal biopic which requires constant badminton training all through the shoot, so she couldn't allot dates for Bhuj."

Chopra is also working on The Girl On The Train, an adaptation of the 2016 English film of the same name. In the Nehwal biopic, she replaced Shraddha Kapoor in the role of the badminton star.

Bhuj: The Pride Of India is an ensemble drama with Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi SInha, Rana Daggubati and Pranitha Subhash in key roles. The cast and crew began filming back in June. Devgn plays Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who led operations in Madhopur.

The film is slated for release on 14 August 2020.
