Before the trailer releases for Om Raut’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2019), the first look posters show Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan ready for battle as warriors Tanhaji Malsure and Udaybhan Singh Rathod. Both the Maratha and the Rajput were tasked to fight till the death in the battle of Sinhagad.

While Devgn’s Tanhaji is presented like a superhero, complete with flaming turban in the background, Khan’s Udaybhan feels like he’s walked off the sets of the popular series, Game of Thrones. His character is clad in a dark outfit with a flowing cape that seems better suited for another period altogether, not the Rajput warrior that he was.
Both characters are shown as contrasts, Tanhaji in warm, pleasing orange colours while Udaybhan gets the colder blue treatment in his poster.

Both Tanhaji and Udaybhan, while fighting for the Marathas and Mughals respectively, put up a fierce battle. The Om Raut film will bring to life their clashes for the first time on the big screen.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, also stars Kajol as Malusare’s wife Savitri, is due to be released on 10 January 2020.
