Box office: Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala reaches Rs50 crore in four days

The Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Bala passed its first-Monday test with ease. The film, directed by Amar 'Stree' Kaushik, reached the half-century mark at the box office on just its fourth day in theatres.
As per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com, Bala earned well on Monday, amassing Rs8 crore nett, a drop of just 15% from the opening day collection of Rs9.50 crore nett. On Sunday, the film had raked in a cool Rs17.75 crore nett.
This indicates that Bala has been liked by audiences. The film has received positive reviews as well as good word-of-mouth publicity.
Featuring Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam alongside Khurrana, Bala was made on a budget of around Rs45 crore, as per our trade sources. With the film easily crossing that amount in the first four days, Khurrana's winning streak at the box office looks set to continue. The actor has been enjoying a golden run since the release of Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) and five of his previous releases have been hits.
Meanwhile, Housefull 4 performed decently on its third Monday, earning Rs1.75 crore nett and taking its third week collection total to Rs11.25 crore. Starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol, the reincarnation comedy is inching towards the Rs200 crore mark. The film's grand total currently stands at Rs195.18 crore nett and it is Akshay Kumar's highest grossing film.
