Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai early on Monday, 11 November, following breathing complications. The singer is reported to be in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Mangeshkar celebrated her 90th birthday on 28 September.
The Hindu newspaper reported that the singer was rushed to hospital at around 1:30am following complaints about difficulty in breathing. Sources said Mangeshkar was under the care of physician and intensivist Dr Farokh E Udwadia, who is also the hospital’s senior medical adviser.
The Press Trust of India news agency quoted a source saying, "She was brought to hospital at about 2am. She is critical and in the ICU."
Mangeshkar had wished niece Padmini Kolhapure for her upcoming role in Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat (2019) on Sunday, 10 November.

The singer was honoured with India's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. She has sung for more than 1,000 films in her career.
