The teaser of Argha Deep Chatterjee’s upcoming thriller Mukhosh doesn’t contain dialogues, it rather attempts to present the essence of the storyline. Modhura Palit’s cinematography and Nilanjan Ghosh’s background score appear to be the two most striking aspects of the teaser.
The teaser only offers glimpses of the actors, without introducing their characters. Mukhosh features Payel Sarkar, Santilal Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, Prantik Banerjee and Amrita Halder in important roles.
In the teaser, the cello playing in the background, complements the play with light and shadow in the frames. Most of the scenes have been shot in low light, to create a grim ambience that pervades the film.
While Sarkar’s character appears interesting, the rest either seem tensed or caught in supressed circumstances. The teaser proves that Chatterjee has attempted to define the genre of the film precisely with its look, along with its content.
In the film, Halder lodges complaint for her missing sister with Mukherjee, who plays a police officer. Halder considers Dutta, her brother-in-law with strong political connections, to be responsible for her sister’s disappearance.
However, Mukherjee decides to help her out, despite being aware of Dutta’s influential position. Sarkar, on the other hand, plays the most interesting character, that of Dutta’s love interest, who plays a crucial role in the entire turn of events, as the accusation makes Dutta end up in a troublesome juncture of his career.
Chatterjee's debut film Jojo, a thriller, released in 2018. Mukhosh is due to be released before the end of the year. Watch the teaser below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
