Ranveer Singh's transformation as Kapil Dev has taken a lot of people by surprise. While the actor's first look as Kapil the bowler had been released, the makers have now revealed the actor replicating the former Indian captain's iconic batting stance in the upcoming '83 (2020).

The picture captures the moment of transformation for Indian cricket when Kapil Dev hit a whirlwind 175 not out at Tunbridge Wells against Zimbabwe. The innings saved India from a sure defeat and ensured their progress in the 1983 World championships in England. It was hailed as one of the greatest innings of one-day cricket.

The picture has Ranveer Singh replicating Kapil Dev's iconic 'Natraj' shot. The shot is so named after the idol of Lord Nataraja on one leg. Simply put, the picture is that of Kapil Dev playing a pull shot down the legside with one leg in the air. Singh certainly looks the part, even getting Dev's grimace right from the iconic moment.

Directed by Kabir Khan, '83 features Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem among others. The film is set to release on 10 April 2020.
