Third Battle of Panipat comes to shape in newest poster for Ashutosh Gowariker's historical film

A little over a month before its release, Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat has its first major poster. The historical drama features Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in the lead.

Ashutosh Gowariker's film tells the story of the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761 between the Maratha forces led by Sadashivrao Bhau and the Afghan army led by Ahmed Shah Abdali. The battle resulted in the defeat of the Marathas and changed the power dynamics in India to a great extent.

The film will feature Arjun Kapoor in the role of Bhau, while Sanjay Dutt is taking on the role of Abdali. The film will also feature Zeenat Aman in the key role of Sakina Bai, as announced by Gowariker in June earlier this year. 

The film will also see Ajay-Atul shape the music for the period war story. This is Gowariker's most lavishly mounted historical epic since Jodhaa Akbar (2008). 

Produced by Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and Reliance Entertainment, as well as Vision World and Rohit Shelatkar, the film will be released in theatres on 6 December 2019.
