Venus Records owner and film producer Champak Jain dies

Champak Jain, film producer and owner of Venus Records and Tapes, died last evening, 31 October, of a brain haemorrhage. The news was shared in a joint statement by his brothers Ganesh and Ratan Jain.
“Deeply saddened to inform you that [our] younger brother Champak Jain passed away today at 7pm. His funeral will be held tomorrow at 11am, Friday, 1 November, at Santa Cruz crematorium,” they stated.
Under Champak Jain's leadership, Venus produced a number of successful films like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), Yes Boss (1997), Baadshah (1999), Dhadkan (2000), Humraaz (2002), Main Hoon Na (2004), Garam Masala (2005) and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015).
Ashoke Pandit, president of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), offered condolences on Twitter, writing, "Extremely sad to know that our friend Champak Jain is no more. Champakji belongs to the family who own Venus music company who have also produced superhit films. A great human being. Industry will miss him."
Others from the industry like actors Sonu Sood, Karanvir Bohra and Gurpreet Kaur Chadha, director Kunal Kohli and singer Mika Singh as well as politician Sanjay Nirupam offered their condolences.
