Last year, writer-director Digpal Lanjekar’s Farzand (2018) had turned out to be a surprise hit. The film told the tale, somewhat fictionalized, about the recapture of Panhala fort by Shivaji's forces led by Kondaji Farzand (Ankit Mohan) from the Adilshahs of Bijapur.
Farzand review: Little-known historic tale told with style
Lanjekar is now back with another film in the same league titled Fatteshikast. The makers have revealed the first poster of the film, which indicates that it will revolve around Shivaji.
The film will have Chinmay Mandlekar, who had played Shivaji in Farzand, reprise the role.
Mandlekar is not the only member of the cast to be repeated. Like Farzand, this film will also feature Ankit Mohan, Mrinal Kulkarni, Nikhil Raut, Ajay Purkar, Sameer Dharmadhikari and Mrunmayee Deshpande. Ankit Mohan plays Farzand once again.
Interestingly, the makers have claimed the film to be ‘India’s first surgical strike’.
The poster shared by the makers on the official Facebook page of the film also mentions that Fatteshikast has already gone on the floors. Fatteshikast is being produced under the Almonds Creations banner.
