Kangana Ranaut's sister, Rangoli Chandel, accused Hrithik Roshan and his PR management team of spinning a 'negative campaign' against Ranaut's upcoming film, Mental Hai Kya (2019).

The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, is set to be released on 26 June, clashing with Hrithik Roshan's Super 30.

With the previous history of Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan in mind, Ekta Kapoor, producer of Mental Hai Kya, had announced the release date stating that 'there will be no mudslinging and it will be a dignified release'.

Kapoor also reportedly conducted talks with Hrithik Roshan, a close family friend, to come to an agreement about the release date.

However, the producer seems to have been disappointed by certain PR stories. Earlier on Wednesday, Kapoor tweeted her thoughts about the matter on social media.

Although Kapoor promised "to keep it clean and have assurances from my actors on the same", Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel took to social media to launch a scathing attack on Hrithik Roshan.

Tagging Kapoor's tweet, Chandel wrote, 'Jitna tu aur tera PR Kangana ko giraega utna he woh teri maregi.... [The more you and your PR team attack Kangana, the more she will hit back]. So far it wasn’t her concern magar ab tu dekh... [Now you watch out] Jadoo.

While the first tweet was more a hint at Hrithik Roshan, using the name of a character from Koi... Mil Gaya (2003), Chandel followed it up with more direct mentions of the actor, even pulling in his PR management team.

Ranaut has been involved in a long and bitter public fight with Hrithik Roshan since 2017, when she went public about the breakdown of her relationship with the actor.

This is Ranaut's third consecutive release to get embroiled in a controversy. For Hansal Mehta's Simran (2017), the actress fought with writer Apurva Asrani for credit on the film. For this year's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, she took over directing duties from Krish aka Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi nearly six months prior to the film's release and reshot a significant portion of the film and received co-directing credit.

Despite the request from Ekta Kapoor to her cast to "keep it clean", Chandel added that Ranaut will not tolerate any 'underhand' tactics from Hrithik or his PR campaign.

Even before Chandel's attack, Mental Hai Kya came under the lens of several psychiatrists' associations for its title being negatively associated with people suffering from mental health issues.

Chandel even shared one of her followers' messages that pointed out an alleged PR campaign against the actress.

Mental Hai Kya is set to be released alongside Super 30 on 26 July.
