Even as Salman Khan fans await the release of Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat (2019), a remake of the Korean drama, An Ode To My Father (2014), there are reports that the actor's production house has purchased the rights to yet another Korean drama. In a PTI report, actor-producer Atul Agnihotri confirmed that he had purchased the rights to the 2015 Korean drama, Veteran. Agnihotri went on to say that the remake will feature Khan in the lead role.
Directed by Ryoo Seung Wan, Veteran is an action comedy which revolves around a grizzled police detective in the pursuit of a young business tycoon running a crime syndicate.
Rumours of Agnihotri and Salman Khan looking at the project broke out in early February this year, however, neither party provided confirmation on the subject.
However, now, actor-producer Agnihotri confirmed Khan's involvement in the project in a report to PTI. He said, "I saw the film and I liked it. I thought it is an opportunity to make it with him. It is a class film. I showed him the film and he felt the same. Salman has given a go ahead. He will play the detective in the film."
This would mark the second consecutive Korean drama that Khan's production house, Salman Khan Films, is adapting for the big screen.
Bharat is set to release in theatres on 5 June.
