After Stree (2018), director Amar Kaushik is ready to begin his next, Bala, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. The film went on the floors today in Mumbai.

The Andhadhun (2018) actor, Ayushmann Khurrana, reunites with two of his former co-stars for this comedy. Khurrana starred with Pednekar in her debut film Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), while he and Gautam made their debuts together in Vicky Donor (2012) directed by Shoojit Sircar.

In Bala (2019), which was announced last December, Khurrana plays the title character Bala who faces premature balding, while Pednekar stars in the film as a woman fighting against skin discrimination. It is not known what role Gautam will play in the film. The film's title poster shows Khurrana's character name across a balding head.

Khurrana has recently wrapped Anubhav Sinha's Article 15 (2019), which is due this June, and Pednekar completed filming on Tushar Hiranandani's Saand Ki Aankh (2019) which features her and Taapsee Pannu as aged sharpshooters.

Saurabh Shukla, Jaaved Jaaferi and Seema Pahwa have also been announced as part of the cast of the film. Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Bala is due to be released later this year.
