Film with SS Rajamouli most likely in 2020, confirms Mahesh Babu

During the promotions of his forthcoming film Maharshi, Mahesh Babu said that the script has already been locked, and veteran producer KL Narayana will bankroll the project.

Two years after actor Mahesh Babu and filmmaker SS Rajamouli had agreed in-principal to work together, there’s finally an update with respect to their project which might most likely go on the floors next year.

During the promotions of his forthcoming film Maharshi, Mahesh Babu finally opened up on his project with Rajamouli.

Mahesh Babu said that the script has already been locked, and veteran producer KL Narayana will bankroll the project.

“Right now, both of us are determined to complete our current commitments. He is India's numero uno director and you will definitely see us joining hands for a film to be produced by KL Narayana. It should most likely happen next year,” Mahesh said.

He also revealed he has a project each with directors Trivikram Srinivas and Sukumar.

Mahesh also has a film with director Anil Ravipudi next. The untitled project is expected to go on the floors from July.

Meanwhile, Maharshi is slated to hit the screens on 9 May. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu and Allari Naresh in crucial roles.

The film was originally planned to be released on 25 April. However, last month, producer Dil Raju in a press meet confirmed that the release has been pushed to 9 May. He revealed the reason for postponement of the release is post-production work which is taking more time than expected.

The film, which has been jointly produced by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and PVP Cinema, has music by Devi Sri Prasad, while KU Mohanan is behind the camera.
