Director Ravi Jadhav’s Rampaat finally has a trailer that was released today (6 May). Before this, the makers released the character introduction videos of lead pair Abhinay Berde and Kashmira Pardeshi, the film’s teaser and two songs.

Through this material, they have already explained the characters and the base of the story. The trailer elaborates by introducing more characters.

Mithoon (Berde) from Solapur and Munni (Pardeshi) from Kolhapur dream of becoming film stars. They are completely obsessed with Hindi cinema. They set out to fulfil their dream and their paths cross.

The trailer shows Mithoon’s mother who is equally filmi, and dramtically so. Pardeshi’s father is a wrestling coach who trains his daughter rigorously to become a wrestler, totally inspired by Aamir Khan in Dangal (2016).

The humour in the trailer brings a few smiles and giggles, but doesn’t leave you in splits. We get a glimpse of how film aspirants struggle when they are seen outside the actual Yash Raj Studios and Balaji Films’ offices.

Abhinay is the son of the late legendary actor Laxmikant Berde. In an important moment, he doffs a hat to his late father by declaring that he likes his work.

Rampaat will be in theatres on 17 May.
