Actor Suriya has heaped praise on the Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi, calling it a pleasant film and a great cinematic experience.
The Singam (2010) star opened up about the experience of watching Maharshi while promoting his forthcoming release NGK in Hyderabad.
Vamshi Paidipally directed Maharshi, in which Mahesh Babu plays a multimillionaire who returns to his roots to take up farming. The film has already collected over Rs100 crore at the box office and is currently in its fourth week in cinemas.
Asked in a television interview about a recent Telugu film that he had watched, Suriya said: “I saw Maharshi in Chennai in a packed theatre and loved it. Vamshi garu, I haven’t had the chance to talk to you in person, but through this interview I am reaching out to you. Maharshi didn’t feel like a long film at all. It gave me such a pleasant feeling and I really enjoyed all the layers, variations and stories in it. It was a great cinematic experience. I also learnt on social media that a lot of kids have taken up farming thanks to Maharshi. The team has given the audience such a nice emotion.”
Maharshi, Mahesh Babu’s 25th film as leading man, also stars Pooja Hegde, Allari Naresh and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.
At the recently held success meet of the film, Mahesh thanked Vamshi for giving him a film he really loved doing and said its success means a lot to him. He went on to raise his collar and announce that’s how proud he was of the film.
