The second chapter of Kannada action drama KGF had its official launch in March and the team started shooting from this month. The latest update is that actor Yash will finally join the sets from 6 June, according to reliable sources.
Being directed by Prashant Neel, the second chapter will follow the rise of Rocky bhai (Yash) as he takes over the goldmine.
In a recent interview to news agency IANS, Yash opened up about the second part and said that the pre-production work has been going on for months. He assured the second chapter will be bigger and grander.
“When we made KGF Chapter 1 (2018), we had our own inhibitions and restricted ourselves in some way. But with this kind of success in our side, we are going all out to make the second part. We now know people are keenly looking forward to the second part and we can deliver it without any reservations. We’ve reserved the best for Chapter 2,” he said.
If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, popular 1990s Hindi film stars Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt may have landed crucial roles KGF Chapter 2. Yash had confirmed that the team had initiated talks with Dutt, but whether he’s been officially signed or not is yet unknown.
Srinidhi Shetty will play the leading lady while Ravi Basrur, Bhuvan Gowda, and Shivakumar will reprise their roles from the first part as music director, cinematographer, and art director respectively.
Despite mixed reviews from critics from all quarters, KGF went on to make a killing at the box-office and collected over Rs200 crore worldwide. It was the first Kannada film to enter the Rs100 crore club.
