Newlyweds Arya and Sayyeshaa, who had previously worked together in Ghajinikanth (2018), have reunited for the upcoming children’s comedy Teddy, which is being directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan (2016) and Tik Tik Tik (2018) fame.
The film had its official launch ceremony last week and the latest update is that the team, including Arya and Sayyeshaa, have left for Europe to shoot some portions of the film.
The team is expected to shoot some songs and a few scenes in some exotic places across Europe. They are expected to return to India in a couple of weeks.
The project, which is being bankrolled by Studio Green, marks the maiden collaboration of Arya and Shakti. The film’s title was released on 10 March to coincide with Arya’s marriage and the birthday of director Shakti. On the same day, the team commenced shooting and canned a couple of scenes.
However, regular shooting began last week after the launch.
Meanwhile, Arya awaits the release of Tamil action-thriller Magamuni (2019) and the Suriya-starrer Kaappaan (2019), in which Sayyeshaa has played the leading lady.
The teaser of Magamuni, which features Arya in a very dark role, was released last week and it was extremely well received. He said in a recent interview to the website Silverscreen.in that he hopes to break his light-hearted hero image via this film.
“I’ve been waiting for a script like this for a very long time," Arya told the website. "When Santha Kumar narrated the story, he had the characterization of every single person in the film written down. What I liked most was the depth of the screenplay and the nuances he lent the characters. Even if it does not get stated openly in the film, that nuance helps the actors perform better, and get into the skin of the character.”
