Article 15 poster: Ayushmann Khurrana steps up to make a difference

The film is due to be released on 28 June.

After Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh, it is time for actor Ayushmann Khurrana to step into cop shoes. The actor brings on two key elements of the stereotypical Hindi film cop, the moustache and the sunglasses, in the first look of Anubhav Sinha's Article 15. The teaser of the film will be released later today.

Considering Anubhav Sinha's style, it is unlikely that the film will cater to stereotypes. The title of the film, Article 15, refers to the article in the Indian Penal Code which refers to the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex, race or caste.

Filmed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Sinha's film is an investigative thriller and the poster carries reminders of these themes and is based on true events.

The bodies of girls hung on a noose are reflected in the lenses of Khurrana's sunglasses. In addition, the tagline 'Fark bahut kar liya, ab fark laayenge' [We have differentiated, now we will make a difference] seems to refer to the same sentiment.

Article 15 will also feature Sayani Gupta, Manoj Pahwa, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Isha Talwar among others.

The film is set to release in theatres on 28 June. It will have its world premiere at London Indian Film Festival on 20 June.
