Terror thrillers seem to be all the rage these days. Ashok Nanda's One Day focuses on a terror plot, with three missing people added to the drama. Kumud Mishra and Anupam Kher lead the drama, with Esha Gupta playing the tough-talking policewoman put in charge of the case. The film is set to be released in theatres on 14 June.
The trailer works with the snap-edit formula that opens with multiple shots of Anupam Kher's retired judge questioning someone about a bomb blast. This is followed a little later by the sight of him as a judge releasing a couple of suspects citing evidence proferred by witnesses.
While these shots imply that Kher's character himself could be involved in a devious plot that includes the three missing people, it is not clear what the plot really is. That is left to Kumud Mishra's police officer, who, along with Esha Gupta's CBI officer, is given the task of finding the missing individuals, to unearth.
The trailer is a bit haphazard, with Usha Uthup's rendition of the title song, One Day, coming bang in the middle of an intriguing portion. While the trailer fails to reveal much, it does offer an indication of the grey shades present in Kher's character.
Kumud Mishra looks his part as an honest police officer on the track of a case, while Gupta seems to be trying hard to fit into the Haryanvi cop role. It remains to be seen how she fares.
The film is directed by Ashok Nanda, and will be released in theatres on 14 June. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
