The highly-anticipated trailer of actor Mahesh Babu’s forthcoming Telugu film Maharshi was released on Wednesday evening at the film’s grand pre-release event in Hyderabad.
The film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, tracks the journey of a character called Rishi (played by Mahesh Babu), who wants to rule the world.
In the opening shot of the trailer, Rao Ramesh’s character asks Mahesh Babu what he wants to do in life and he replies, ‘I want to rule the world’.
The film is rich on grand visuals of Mahesh Babu walking in slow motion as a billionaire. We also see him as a college student from a lower middle class family and later a farmer.
Going by the trailer, Mahesh Babu’s character is afraid of losing and he’d do anything to not lose. There are some scenes of violence in the trailer. Jagapathi Babu is believed to be playing the antagonist. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in crucial roles.
The film was originally planned for a 25 April release. However, last month, producer Dil Raju, in a press meet, confirmed that the release has been pushed to 9 May. He revealed the reason for postponement to be the post-production work that is taking more time than expected.
The film, which has been jointly produced by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and PVP Cinema, has music by Devi Sri Prasad, while KU Mohanan is behind the camera.
