Director Ramesh Sahebrao Chaudhary’s Marathi movie Babo takes place in a village in Maharashtra. The village is full of crazy characters played by an ensemble cast that includes Kishore Kadam, Sayaji Shinde, Bharat Ganeshpure, Nisha Parulekar and Pratiksha Mungekar.
The greater number of characters means more problems here. A father is worried to see his son keeping a man’s photograph in his book. Two men are thirsting for each other’s blood. There are several other tussles and issues in the village.
However, all their problems evaporate when they are faced with a newer and much bigger issue. News starts playing in the media that a UFO, or unidentified flying object, will be crashing on their village in 24 hours. In other words, they have only 24 hours left to live. This changes the agenda for the villagers.
The teaser of Babo, which was released last month, gave a good idea of what the film’s story is. The trailer is just an extension of the teaser. It doesn’t add anything new. Plus, it lacks proper flow as too many events are included in a short span of time.
Nevertheless, the story is interesting and there is this curiosity to know what happens once the UFO lands there, or whether it lands at all.
Babo will be released on 31 May. Watch the trailer below.
