It seems Rohit Shetty's tendency to exaggerate might continue with Sooryavanshi. The director has roped in NIkitin Dheer in addition to Abhimanyu Singh to battle Akshay Kumar's ATS officer in Sooryavanshi. The actor confirmed his addition to the cast in a quote to a daily.

In his statement, Dheer said, "I have utmost respect for Rohitbhai. I have immense faith in him as a filmmaker. He brings out the best in me. Thangaballi has been the best role of my career so far. I felt immense pride being part of such a wonderful film."

Dheer was part of Shetty's Chennai Express (2013) where he played Thangaballi, the hulking villain to Shah Rukh Khan's protagonist.

It is not known yet what role Dheer will be playing in the film. Abhimanyu Singh has already been roped as an antagonist for Sooryavanshi. Dheer has also worked with Akshay Kumar earlier in Housefull 3 (2016).

Sooryavanshi is a spin-off from the hit Simmba (2018), which in itself was a spin-off from Rohit Shetty's Singham franchise. The film will also feature Katrina Kaif and Neena Gupta.

Sooryavanshi is expected to be ready for release for Eid 2020.
