Aditya Pancholi filed a police complaint earlier this month against Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddique, accusing him of threatening to file a false case of rape against him.
A senior officer from the Versova police station, where the compaint has been filed, told the Hindustan Times newspaper, “We have asked both of them to record their statements. We will conduct an inquiry before registering an FIR [first information report].”
Rangoli Chandel, sister and manager of Kangana Ranaut, had filed a complaint against Pancholi last month, accusing him of exploiting and abusing her sister more than a decade ago.
Following this, Pancholi had filed a case of defamation against Kangana Ranaut.
Pancholi told the newspaper yesterday, “Reacting to the defamation case, Kangana, Rangoli and their lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, decided to file the complaint. Siddique even threatened me with a rape case on 6 January 2019.”
Pancholi said he has submitted the evidence he had against Siddique. “I submitted my application to the police against Siddique, Kangana and Rangoli earlier this month. I have submitted the video in the police station and court. Rape is the worst kind of crime that can happen,” he said.
Ranaut had, in 2017, accused Pancholi of keeping her confined in his house when they were having an affair in the mid-2000s, when she was still making her way in Hindi cinema, and claimed to have escaped by jumping out of the first floor balcony.
