New promo of Bigg Boss 3 released; Kamal Haasan is back as host

We had already revealed that actor-filmmaker-politician Kamal Haasan will return as host of the third season of Tamil reality show Bigg Boss. On Wednesday, Star Vijay, the channel which airs the show, released a promo video announcing the third season featuring Kamal Haasan as its host.

There were rumours that Kamal Haasan, who made his television debut as the host of Bigg Boss in 2017, would not take up the role this time as he has plunged into full-time politics. But his return has proved everyone wrong.

Soon after being signed on to host the show, Kamal Haasan said in an interview to the DNA newspaper: “I am very happy to be hosting Bigg Boss. It is one of my biggest successes in recent times.”

The first season of the show faced stiff opposition from some fringe groups which protested against the culture that the show was promoting.

In spite of the opposition and controversies, however, the show went on to be received very well, thanks to Kamal Haasan’s screen presence and the popularity of the contestants.

Commenting on the controversies, Kamal Haasan had said: “All these numbers are music to my ears, especially since there is a constant attempt to pull the rug from under my feet ever since I started hosting the show.”

On the experience of hosting the show, he said, “I enjoy talking to the contestants. The people targeting me would find any reason to target me. In the past, it was my films Hey Ram (2000) and Vishwaroopam (2013). Today, it is Bigg Boss. Tomorrow it will be something else. Bring it on.”

The producers of the show are in the process of finalizing the contestants. However, the names of well-known personalities such as Radha Ravi, VJ Ramya and Premgi are already doing the rounds.
