The Swapnil Joshi-starrer Mogra Phulaalaa is about a middle-class man who is burdened with family responsibilities and so finds love rather late in life.

Through the song 'Manmohini', which was released recently, we get a glimpse of the woman (Sai Deodhar) who plays the lover of Joshi's common man.

Singer Rohit Shyam Raut sails flawlessly through the song. His voice keeps growing on you. Abhishek Khankar’s lyrics convincingly describe the innocent and unadulterated love the two characters share. Raut has also composed the music. The use of the flute elevates the song.

Joshi has played lover boy quite a few times in his career with the most prominent instance being in the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai franchise. But here he plays an older man who is rather shy, quite like Surinder Sahni from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), and gets the introvert nature and hesitation well.

Deodhar appears a good match for Joshi. This is her return to cinema after a long hiatus. Her last big screen appearance was in Daayaraa (1996) while her last Marathi movie was Lapandav (1993). She had been focused on television all these years.

Mogra Phulaalaa also stars Neena Kulkarni as Swapnil Joshi’s mother.

Directed by Shrabani Deodhar, the film will be released on 14 June. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
