Kamal Haasan is all set to return to host Tamil reality show Bigg Boss 3

According to a reliable source, the promo video will be released this month and the show will go on air in June.

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who is currently busy in his new avatar as a politician, is all set to return to the sets of the third season of Tamil reality show Bigg Boss, according to the industry grapevine.

Kamal Haasan, who made his television debut as the host of Bigg Boss in 2017, has already shot the promo video for the new season, a reliable source said. The promo video is expected to be released this month and the show will go on air in June.

Soon after being signed on as host of the show, Kamal Haasan had said in an interview to DNA newspaper: “I am very happy to be hosting Bigg Boss. It is one of my biggest successes in recent times.”

The first season of the show faced stiff opposition from some fringe groups which protested against the culture the show was promoting. Kamal Haasan's name was dragged into some controversies.

In spite of the opposition and controversies, the show went on to be received well by Tamil television audiences.

Commenting on the controversies, Kamal Haasan had said: “All these numbers are music to my ears, especially since there is a constant attempt to pull the rug from under my feet ever since I started hosting the show.”

On the experience of hosting the show, he said, “I enjoy talking to the contestants. The people targeting me would find any reason to target me. In the past, it was my films Hey Ram (2000) and Vishwaroopam (2013). Today, it is Bigg Boss. Tomorrow it will be something else. Bring it on.”

The producers of the show are in the process of finalizing the contestants for season 3. It’s worth mentioning that Tamil Bigg Boss made artistes like Oviya, Harish Kalyan and Aishwarya Dutta household names and changed the arc of their careers for good.
