The teaser for Netflix's Sacred Games 2 introduced a gamut of new characters, but the latest posters bring back the two lead characters, Sartaj Singh and Ganesh Gaitonde. Played by Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, respectively, the two make an appearance as the conflict enters its final phase.

The poster of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as gangster Gaitonde is a marked change from the first part of the series. Where the first part saw Siddiqui play the rowdy, local ganglord, the second part sees him metamorphose into a more sophisticated criminal involved in corporate skulduggery and political scheming. Wearing a suit, Siddiqui's Gaitonde offers the clue in the tagline, 'Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesh bhai ko? Aukaat! [What did you tell Ganesh the last time? Status!]'

On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan's Sartaj Singh is still on the verge of finding the truth about Gaitonde's relationship with his dead father, and the impending doom of the city. The clue to his character arc lies in the tagline as well, which talks about changing the system. Sartaj Singh's bandaged hand is a reminder of the last episode in which he lost his thumb.

Sacred Games 2 will also feature Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey as the new character additions of Batya Abelman and Shahid Khan, respectively, while Pankaj Tripathi will continue with his role as the Guruji at the helm of Gaitonde's plan.

While the first series was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, the second series will see Neeraj Ghaywan take over from Motwane, who remains the showrunner.
