Sai Tamhankar and Lalit Prabhakar have been roped in together for the first time for the upcoming Marathi movie Medium Spicy.
The film is the directorial debut of theatre personality Mohit Takalkar and is being produced under Vidhi Kasliwal’s banner Landmarc Films.
An official statement from the makers offers an insight into what the film is about. It states, “In life, as in food, each of us has a different palate and preference for the spice we want in it. So how does one find the right balance and moderation? The story, through an urban relationship, intends to have an interesting take on whether there is actually a case for balancing relationships.”
The makers also said Tamhankar will be seen in a different avatar in the film while Prabhakar will be playing an urban youngster. The latter won accolades this year with Anandi Gopal (2019). Medium Spicy will also star young actress Parna Pethe of Faster Fene (2017) fame.
Kasliwal has made films like Vazandar (2016), Ringan (2017), Gachchi (2017), Pipsi (2018), Redu (2017) and Nashibvaan (2019).
She said Medium Spicy and its premise of balancing different relationships in the journey of life appealed to her instantly and she hopes that when the film is eventually ready, it will please the palate of the audience when it experiences it in theatres.
