Alia Bhatt is a picture of beauty and grace as Roop in Kalank

What better day than International Women's Day (IWD) to introduce your female characters. A day after unveiling the male characters in Kalank, Dharma Productions introduced their female characters on IWD. The first reveal is Alia Bhatt's character.

Bhatt plays the character of Roop. From the poster, it looks like Roop is from a royal lineage. Her elaborate traditional clothes and ethnic jewellery make her a picture of beauty, grace and royalty. Her demure look reflects a certain humility too. Bhatt's poster also has the reddish colour scheme like the posters for Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt.

In a tweet, Bhatt merely mentioned her character name. Co-star Dhawan, who plays the character of Zafar, described Roop as bold, courageous, strong-willed. 

The characters of Sonakshi Sinha and Madhuri Dixit will be revealed later today.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank boasts of a multi-star cast led by Dhawan, Dutt, Dixit, Roy Kapur, Sinha and Bhatt. Kalank will be released on 19 April.
