The Brahmastra logo has been revealed in a motion poster released today.
The 41-second motion poster has a voice-over by the three protagonists — Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The motion poster explains the meaning of the word Brahmastra. Kapoor and Bhatt’s characters want to know if there is any powerful weapon in the universe. Bachchan's character, who probably plays mentor to them, explains the meaning of the word.
Brahmastra, the Sanskrit word, refers to the supernatural weapon used in Hindu mythological wars. Brahmastra was a weapon created by Lord Brahma.
Kapoor’s plays the character of Shiva, who keeps seeing the Brahmastra. He addresses Bachchan as ‘sir’, suggesting a contemporary fictional story with roots in mythology. Bachchan tells him that he has a connection with the last war of Brahmastra. It implies that the film has a strong reincarnation angle to it.
The background vocals in Sanskrit describe the qualities of the weapon Brahmastra. This is just a motion poster and fans will hope for a more gripping, enticing teaser and trailer.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra is scheduled to be released on Christmas this year.
