Simbu lands a cameo in Hansika’s 50th film, Maha

Tipped to be a woman-centric thriller featuring Hansika in the titular role, the film also stars Karunakaran, Srikanth and Thambi Ramaiah in crucial roles.

Actress Hansika Motwani, who made her acting debut in a lead role at the age of 16 in Allu Arjun’s Desamuduru (2007), on Monday revealed the first look of her 50th film Maha. She plays a character with multiple shades in Maha, according to debutant director Jameel.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that actor Simbu, last seen playing a cameo in Tamil adult comedy 90 ML, will have one in Maha too.

After working together in Vaalu (2015), this will be the second time that Simbu and Hansika will be seen together in a film. However, it is still not clear if they will have scenes together. The makers are yet to shed more light on Simbu’s role and its length in the film.

Tipped to be a woman-centric thriller featuring Hansika in the titular role, the film also stars Karunakaran, Srikanth and Thambi Ramaiah in crucial roles.

Talking about the film, Jameel said in a statement: “Her decision to elevate herself to heroine based films will justify the rich talent she possesses.  Hansika plays a very challenging role that has multiple shades. The mirror image which went viral yesterday actually says, 'The objects in the mirror are not what exactly what you see....It differs'. Hansika’s character is built on this concept.”

Maha has music by Ghibran and this happens to be his 25th film. A predominant portion of the film will be shot in the ECR stretch in Chennai and Madurai. The makers also plan to shoot some scenes in a European country.

Last seen on screen in Vikram Prabhu’s cop thriller Thuppakki Munai (2018), Hansika also recently signed Telugu comedy film with Sundeep Kishan.
