Actress Sonal Chauhan says she is excited to work on a "one-of-a-kind" concept for a web-series, titled Skyfire.
Zee5, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited's digital arm, is set to launch web-series Skyfire that will also feature Prateik Babbar, Jatin Goswami and Jisshu Sengupta in the leading cast. It will be helmed by Why Cheat India (2019) director Soumik Sen.
Speaking to us, Chauhan said, “Yes, I am doing this web-series. It is a very interesting project. I think something like this hasn’t been done before in either films or web. The Indian web is exploring now, there are a lot of new concepts being made. This is a one-of-a-kind concept. I am very excited about it.”
Skyfire is an adaptation of author Aroon Raman’s thriller 2016 novel of the same name. The book follows the journey of journalist Chandrasekhar, historian Meenakshi Pirzada, and intelligence operative Syed Ali Hassan as they look to solve the mysterious disappearances of children in the slums of Delhi.
The screenplay has been adapted from the book by Suresh Nair. Nair is an experienced screenwriter who has previously worked on films like Kahaani (2012), Airlift (2016), Te3n (2016) and Kahaani 2 (2016).
The web-series is co-produced by Ekant Babani, Satya Mahapatra of Alligator Media Productions and Shabina Khan Entertainment. Alligator had earlier produced the web-series Damaged for Hungama Digital.
A production unit member claimed that the web-series will be rich in visual effects as a top studio is working on the project.
The producers are looking for a summer 2019 launch.
