Music Teacher, starring Manav Kaul, to be released on Netflix on 19 April


The romance drama, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, already had its world premiere at the 9th Chicago South Asian International Film Festival.

Actor Manav Kaul has a busy April with two films out for release. One of them is Yoodlee Films' Music Teacher which will be out on Netflix on 19 April. The second April release is Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai? (2019), a remake of the 1980 classic by Saeed Akhtar Mirza.

In Music Teacher, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, Kaul plays Beni, an unsuccessful singer-musician who has remained in the hills. His estranged former student Jyotsna returns as a Hindi film singer, ready to perform at a big local music concert. He must come to terms with his long-held feelings for his protégé and bitterness at her success.

The romance drama already had its world premiere at the 9th Chicago South Asian International Film Festival last September where it opened the American festival on opening night.  

Actress Amrita Bagchi plays Kaul's former student, while actresses Divya Dutta and recent Filmfare award winner, Neena Gupta, are also part of the cast.

Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai? (2019), which also stars Nandita Das, is due to be released earlier on 12 April.
